Hand turned patterned English sycamore bowl.

This large fruit bowl is from a lovely local piece of English sycamore. It has some prominent figuring and a medium weight. The patterns are caused by a disease which grows into the wood grain, this is called ‘spalting’. The result is unique and rare lines and shapes. Considering it’s size, it’s particularly thin.
